The northern front of the neglected war against migrants: Calais – by Ed Emery

There are big things happening in the port of Calais.

The French state is moving to eliminate migrants from that town.

At present there are about 700 migrants seeking to get to Britain. The police have destroyed three of their big camps, and they are now moving also to destroy the minor encampments.

A new squat has been opened in the centre of town, but we do not know how long it can last.
